NBA: Who’s Still Available in 2025 Free Agency?

There are still a handful of NBA players available after some of the biggest moves in the 2025 free agency have already unfolded. These players are still without a home, and they could help swing the NBA 2025 odds in favour of their next teams.

From future Hall of Famers, up-and-coming youngsters, and grizzled veterans, the 2025 free agency class is pretty stacked compared to the years past, so regularly check the NBA 2025 updates to see where they’ll eventually end up before the beginning of the 2025-26 campaign.

Today, SBOTOP lists some of the notable names available in the open market.

Damian Lillard

The Bucks have endured back-to-back first-round exits in the past two seasons. And after Damian Lillard blew his Achilles against the Pacers, the team did the unthinkable by waiving and stretching his massive contract to make room for the Myles Turner signing.

Lillard is expected to be out for the entire 2025-26 campaign, so the big question surrounding him will be regarding how he looks coming back from the injury. He’ll be 36 by then, so there’s a huge chance he won’t return to his old NBA All-Star-calibre form.

Now that he is without a team, Lillard can pick the right situation for himself (while still getting paid by Milwaukee), and most likely, he’ll choose a contending team to chase his first ring.

The Celtics are rumoured to be interested in the nine-time NBA All-Star, but the team might not be keen on acquiring another player with an Achilles problem. Moreover, he is urged by many to reunite with the Blazers, where he is considered a club legend, and possibly retire there.

Al Horford

The Celtics recently traded Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis to the Blazers and Hawks to shed salary and go under the second apron to re-sign Luke Kornet and Al Horford. However, Kornet has joined the Spurs on a four-year, $41 million deal, and Horford has been garnering interest from the Warriors and Lakers.

Horford may return to Boston, but he may have to take a pay cut to make it happen. He just turned 39 last month, but he remains a reliable veteran since he can play solid defense and space the floor with his three-point shot.

The five-time NBA All-Star could also retire if he wants because he no longer has anything to prove. Horford was a key cog in the Celtics’ recent championship run, and he could make a case for the Hall of Fame with his stellar resume.

Josh Giddey

Josh Giddey is expected to command a hefty payday after a solid debut season with the Bulls. Giddey may not be one of the most efficient scorers, but he more than makes up for it with his elite playmaking and rebounding. The Australian international is a nightly triple-double threat with his ability to put up numbers in almost all categories.

Giddey exploded in the second half of the 2024-25 season for the Bulls. The 22-year-old restricted free agent reportedly wants $30 million in annual salary, but the Bulls are hesitant to give it to him even if he wants to stay. Overall, it may feel like it’s only a matter of time before the two parties will finally agree on a new deal.

Malik Beasley

Malik Beasley was supposed to land a new lucrative contract this summer after a productive year with the Pistons. However, the deal never came into fruition because Beasley is under federal investigation over gambling allegations. Instead, Detroit completed a sign-and-trade to acquire Miami Heat’s Duncan Robinson, also a superb three-point shooter, with Simone Fontecchio going the other way.

Teams that desperately need another outside sniper should consider swooping up Beasley, especially if he is cleared from the ongoing federal investigation. The 28-year-old journeyman had the second-most three-point makes in the NBA (319) at a 41.6 percent clip, while averaging 16.3 points across 82 regular season games. Beasley also finished second behind Payton Pritchard in the NBA Sixth Man of the Year race.

Jonathan Kuminga

Jonathan Kuminga is likely headed elsewhere this offseason since he doesn’t fit into the Warriors’ current timeline. With his age (22) and potential, Kuminga doesn’t have a shortage of suitors and could command a massive contract.

According to reports, the Kings, Wizards, Heat, Bulls, Nets, and Bucks are reportedly interested in the one-time NBA champion. Golden State tendered Kuminga a $7.9 million qualifying offer to make him a restricted free agent. The Warriors can match any offer for Kuminga, but the sign-and-trade route could be the more prudent move.
