NBA: Roaring Raptors Plan to Seize the East’s Top Spot

Another team that has taken the NBA by storm this season is the Raptors, as they’re currently the second seed in the Eastern Conference with a 14-5 record, behind the resurgent Pistons. Darko Rajakovic’s men are on a nine-game winning streak, and they’re keen to make it 10 in a row tomorrow. Considering where they were last year, finishing as the 11th seed at 30-52, not many saw this coming.

The Raptors are up against the hapless Hornets at the Spectrum Center, and the SBOTOP NBA 2025 odds favour the visitors. If they win this game and the Pistons drop theirs, the Raptors might see themselves at the top of the East at the end of tomorrow.

Speaking of the Pistons, they will be up against another tough team, the Heat, on the road, while the Celtics, Bulls, Nets, Pelicans, Nuggets, and Mavericks will visit the Timberwolves, Pacers, Bucks, Warriors, Suns, and Clippers to round out tomorrow’s eight-game slate.

Toronto Raptors @ Charlotte Hornets

The Raptors are in the midst of a resurgence because of Brandon Ingram, who is enjoying his time with his new team. After failing to suit up for them last season due to injuries, the one-time NBA All-Star has emerged as their alpha dog, leading them in scoring at 21.8 points per contest.

Toronto secured their ninth straight win on Wednesday, as Ingram hit the go-ahead jumper with 0.6 left against Indiana. With the 97-95 victory, the Raptors secured the Top 2 seed and homecourt in the NBA Cup quarter-finals.

Ingram finished with 26 points, eight rebounds, and two steals on 11-for-23 shooting from the field. Scottie Barnes, Immanuel Quickley, and Ja’Kobe Walter added 24, 15, and 13 points. The Raptors are without RJ Barrett, who is out for at least one week with a sprained knee.

In stark contrast, the Hornets were on a poor run of NBA 2025 results before they halted their skid with a 123-116 home win against the Bulls in the NBA Cup a while ago.

Brandon Miller led the way with 27 points, five rebounds, three blocks, and five three-pointers on 10-for-19 shooting from the field. Miles Bridges, Collin Sexton, LaMelo Ball, and Kon Knueppel added 22, 21, 16, and 12 points, respectively.

Betting tip – Toronto Raptors Asian Handicap -8.50 @ 2.00

Detroit Pistons @ Miami Heat

The Pistons have hit a fork in the road, following their 13-game winning streak. After losing to the Celtics in a thriller on Wednesday evening, Detroit lost 112-109 to Orlando on Friday. With a 2-2 record, the Pistons will not advance to the knockout stage of this season’s NBA Cup.

Cade Cunningham continues to be the Pistons’ brightest spot, notching 39 points, 13 rebounds, 11 assists, and four three-pointers on 13-for-26 shooting from the field and 9-for-12 shooting from the charity stripe. Tobias Harris and Jalen Duren were the team’s other double-digit scorers with 18 and 16.

The Heat are two notches below the Pistons in the Eastern Conference table, as they boast the best offense in the league, averaging 122.9 points per contest. Erik Spoelstra’s men are on a six-game winning streak and are 9-1 at home so far this term.

Miami are fresh from a 106-103 NBA Cup victory against the Giannis Antetokounmpo-less Milwaukee squad on Wednesday, giving Spoelstra his 800th win. Tyler Herro had 29 points, five rebounds, and seven assists on 9-for-15 shooting from the field. Bam Adebayo, Norman Powell, Andrew Wiggins, Kel’el Ware, and Jaime Jaquez Jr. added 17, 11, 11, 11, and 10 points.

Despite their recent form, this game should be close between these two up-and-coming teams, and they’ll likely cancel each other out.

Betting tip – Under 239.00 @ 1.91

Brooklyn Nets @ Milwaukee Bucks

The Bucks have been boosted by the return of Giannis Antetokounmpo, who was sidelined in the past four games due to a strained groin. However, his return to the court on Friday night at Madison Square Garden was not enough to prevent the Bucks from losing a seventh straight game, falling 118-109 to the Knicks.

The Greek Freak finished with 30 points, 15 rebounds, and eight assists on 10-for-14 shooting from the field and the charity stripe. Kyle Kuzma, AJ Green, Ryan Rollins, and Myles Turner added 20, 18, 13, and 10.

The Nets’ skid has been extended to three games after losing 115-103 to the Sixers. With Michael Porter Jr. on the sidelines, rookie Egor Demin stepped up by contributing 23 points, nine rebounds, five assists, two blocks, and five three-pointers on 8-for-18 shooting from the field.

Betting tip – Milwaukee Bucks Asian Handicap -10.00 @ 1.96
